QUT fashion graduate parade

i haven't been on here in a little while but i've been overwhelmed with uni end of semester work, and then full-time work. plus on the little amount of holidays i've had, i haven't been in the mood for posting on here - so i haven't forced it.

i was fortunate enough to view the QUT fashion graduate parade again last year (2013), and it always makes me so inspired and even more emotional. i can't believe it is already my final year of that course.. and that it will be my work up there extremely soon! it makes me so anxious but far more excited. i get teary watching the parade each year, but particularly when awards are handed out and thank-yous are given to the key staff members and to the students from the staff.. because i know how much work has been put into each collection and how close the cohort & staff are by the time November rolls around.

below are some of my favourite looks from the most recent batch of graduates' collections. i wasn't disappointed, because the quality was as high as ever.. but i found that a lot of the collections appeared to have bounced off each other in terms of an overall sense of sameness. there was a lot of tailoring, a lot of really wearable stuff.. which is in no way a bad thing - those styles are often the most sellable! perhaps it was even the way that the show had been sort of separated into like themes that made this so apparent, who knows.
