some fashn fcts:
- only about 100-300 people in the world can actually afford couture / luxury clothing
- if a client / customer can fit into the couture piece from the collection (i.e. the actual piece that the model wore), they often receive a ~ 30% discount
- sssssssss
before boarding a flight home for a couple of days:
basic Staple dress with sheer sleeves, Complex Geometries Mega singlet, Acne Chopper moccasins
about two or more years ago i remembered an article in one of my sister's ooooold Teen Vogue magazines (i think from around 2001-2?) that included a model in New York wearing a pair of old ballet shoes as regular streetwear. i loved the idea. as i had given up ballet about ten years earlier, i didn't have any pairs at home so headed to my dancewear store in the hope of finding a second-hand (in good condition) or relatively cheap pair of pointe shoes that i could convert to regular shoes. i can't remember the issue, perhaps they were too expensive, had to be ordered in, or didn't have any in my size, but i ended up walking out of the store with a pair of demi-pointes. a little disappointing, but not a complete loss.
i got some soles attached at a cobbler store so that they didn't wear out on concrete / other pavement surfaces.
i was never 100% satisfied with the outcome but have since held onto them - they even made the trip to Brisbane when i moved at the start of the year.
